Dr. Foley is certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the California Orthopedic Association. His services include Orthopedic Medicine with special interests in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He received his medical degree from University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio with residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Foley grew up in Massachusetts and came to the Lake Tahoe Region in 1993. He enjoys all aspects of our wonderful location, and in his free time you can find him riding the mountain bike trails in the summer and snowboarding the slopes in the winter.

What do you find rewarding about your work as a Orthopedist and Orthopedic Surgeon?

"We can do all we can to fix things that are broken, as close to their normal state as possible, so that a patient can carry on. In general, that is one of the more satisfying things, when you put something back together. We also have the ability to replace things, and replacements typically do incredibly well overall. This ability to repair, and replace things that give people a new lease on life, or allow them to return to what they want to do bring a lot of satisfaction to me as an orthopedist." - Dr. John Foley
